1. Ranil Wickremesinghe, the prime minister, and president Gotabaya Rajapaksa must step down immediately.

Yapa Abeywardena, the speaker, will take over as interim president.

Parliament must meet in order to elect a new president with a majority vote.

It is important that both Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe and the embattled president resigned at the request of party leaders in Parliament.
