GST Increase on Milk, Rice, Curd, and Other Items Beginning Next Week

The GST Council unanimously resolved to increase the price of a number of daily necessities during its 47th meeting. Beginning on Monday, the higher GST rate will be applied to these items.

After July 18, it is anticipated that the cost of daily necessities like curd, lassi, rice, and other products will rise due to increased Goods and Service Tax rates.

Pre-packed, pre-labelled curd, lassi, and buttermilk" will be subject to GST at a rate of 5% starting on July 18, the GST Council announced in a press statement after its meeting in late June.

The GST Council has recommended changing the inverted duty structure from 12 to 18% which will result in a price increase for LED lights, fittings, and lamps.

Alternatively, those who were freshly supplied after July 18 will be subject to the increased charge and will not be excluded.
